About Us
Ballroom and Belly by Brenda and Garden of Eden are entities of pleasure shared by a group of dance enthusiasts to promote dance in Northeast Wisconsin. We are about learning, creativity, socialization, and just plain showing off! Our ballroom and belly members work intensely to improve our craft and entertain for festivals, charities, private events, and specialty events. Every show is tailored to the specific event and client. New students, friends, and fellow performers are always welcome!
Mother Eve has a 30 year span of dancing experience. Starting with country dancing and ballroom, she started belly dancing after being inspired by one at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.
After taking classes and workshops in cabaret/Egyptian style, she was introduced to American Tribal style as well. Since nobody in the area taught this style, she attended classes and workshops in Milwaukee and self-taught to become proficient before teaching it herself. She is now the only person in Northeast Wisconsin to teach pure ATS. It is now her passion to teach and spread this improvisational style known worldwide.
Since she likes to accumulate new knowledge all the time, she has learned other side dances such as cane dancing, prop and skirt dancing, the Italian tarantula and the Middle Eastern Dabke. She consistently returns to ballroom dancing for lessons, performances, and social connections.
Mother Eve now leads the Garden of Eden Dance revue, which mixes several styles of dance, drumming, music, and vocals for pleasure and charities.
The Garden of Eden Dance Revue consists of a talented group of dancers performing mixed styles. We dance Cabaret/Egyptian Belly dance, American Tribal style belly dance, mixed Ballroom, prop dances, and occasionally tap dances with our friends. The mix changes as we grow and acquire new talent such as drummers and guest musicians and dancers.
Our belly dance friends are led by Brenda Hartstern (Mother Eve) of Ballroom and Belly by Brenda.
Our ballroom friends are led by Mr. A.J. Reed of the NWTC ballroom dance club.
The lovely Jessina Jade shows off her Mother Eve of Garden of Eden original. Mother Eve makes cabaret and Tribal costumes using new and re-purposed materials. Each item is unique according to her inspiration!
